POLICIES

* VACCINES REQUIRED FOR SERVICE - RABIES only. Proof of a current rabies vaccine from a vet is required before any service. Rabies vaccination is required by law in Pennsylvania. For all other vaccines it is up to each individual to work with their veternarian to ensure your dog's best health. Work with your vet to decide which vaccines are best for your dog.  The AAHA published new canine vaccine guidelines in 2011, you can see them here .
*ALL DOGS EVALUATED AT CHECK IN PRIOR TO GROOMING - At every grooming appointment, all dogs will be evaluated for:
Tempermant - any signs of aggression or nervousness?
Fleas - any live fleas or flea dirt visible?
Skin/Coat conditions - itchy, flaky, oily, irritation, or sensitivities?
Matting - any tangled clumps of fur that will require more than normal brushing to remove? any mats very close to skin that can                    irritate skin or can only safely be removed by shaving?
Lumps, bumps, cuts, bruises - any of these existing prior to the grooming process?
Allergies - food or seasonal allergies? Are treats ok to be given?
Special health conditions - arthritis, blind, deaf, seizures, heart conditions, or something else?
*GROOMER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DENY OR NOT COMPLETE SERVICE TO ANY DOG - While the groomer will make every attempt to serve all dogs, she may decide not to groom or not to complete a groom of any dog if any of the following conditions apply:
-the dog is showing signs of aggression and the risk of getting bitten is too great to complete the grooming service.
-the dog is excessively nervous or afraid and even after attempts to calm the dog, behaviors  may put the groomer or the dog at risk of injury.
-any situation or condition in which the groomer feels the health and/or safety of herself or the dog is compromised.
-any condition of  the skin or body of the dog that the groomer feels is either too contagious or likely to endanger the overall health of the dog.

*FLEA SHAMPOO TREATMENT -Fleas are a annoying pest to all animal lovers. While every dog lover has to deal with fleas at some time, flea shampoo alone is not an effective defense against these pests. Flea shampoo will be used to treat live adult fleas on any dog with either live adult fleas or flea dirt visible (if found at any time during the grooming process) for a $10 fee. After that, it will be expected that the owner pursue a flea preventative of their choice to kill all life cycles of the flea. If live fleas or flea dirt are found on the dog again, evidence of flea treatment used must be provided before grooming service will be provided. Research flea prevention ( here is a good article) and talk to your veternarian. In order to protect all customers, dogs who repeatedly have live fleas with no evidence of a flea treatment being used may be denied service.
*SERVICE AUTHORIZATION AGREEMENT - A service authorization form must be signed prior to every grooming appointment, for every dog. This verifies the services being provided, total costs, and the check in conditions of the dog.
*PRESCRIPTIONS/MEDICATIONS - The groomer will not administer any medications or supplements of any kind, even prescription ones to any dog. Prescription shampoo/conditioner may be used by the groomer if supplied by the pet parent in the original container provided by a veternarian.  Proof of a veternarian's prescription of the shampoo/conditioner must be visible to the groomer.
*VETERNARY AFFILIATION -
*NO PET PARENTS IN THE SALON DURING THE GROOM - Understandably, pet parents want to watch their dogs being groomed. This however, usually causes more stress and uncooperative behaviors making it difficult to groom your dog.  Tours of the salon are available before each groom. Also, LIVE FACEBOOK VIDEO feed will be published to the Dapper Dog Salon facebook page during the grooming process for your peace of mind and joy. Pet parents can also request that no live video be posted of their pet to Facebook.
*NO SHOW/15 MIN POLICY - If you and your dog do not arrive for your appointment on time, the groomer will wait 15 minutes past the appointment time. If at that time, you have still not arrived, the groomer will call you and reserves the right to either work with the client at established arrival time or reschedule the grooming appointment. After this occurs twice, you may be denied service or required to pay in advance. Please be courteous, the groomer's time is as valuable as yours.
*CANCELLATION POLICY - You can cancel or reschedule your appointment at any time via Phone (717-855-3741), Text, Email (dapperdogsalon@gmail.com), or online (if online scheduling available). Please try to cancel or reschedule your appointment at least 1 hour before your appointment time. The sooner the better, please be courteous, the groomer's time is as valuable as yours.
*100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEE- If you and your dog are not happy, I am not happy. If there is something about the groom that you are not satisfied with, please let the groomer know right away.  Most things can be fixed with good communication. I  will do everything in my power to fix anything either at the time of service or at another scheduled date. If I cannot fix the problem to your satisfaction, you will not be charged for the service.
